The first phase of the program, launched in 2016, saw the training of 100 young graduates from Jordanian universities, concluding with a large number of them joining the insurance industry.
The training aims to equip Jordanian universities’ graduates with the necessary skill to join the insurance sector and meet the sector’s need for human cadres, in addition to bridging the gap between university graduates and the labor market. Dr. Al Wazani stressed that this initiative comes as part of the insurance sector’s social responsibility towards society, new generations and building a better future. “Training 100 young graduates of Jordanian public and private universities and qualifying them to join the insurance sector is of great benefit as it saves insurance companies’ time and effort when training new cadres. It serves to arm potential employees with the basic knowledge and experience in insurance and other necessary experiences in the labor market.”

The training will cover several fields including risk management; which has become an indispensable tool for public and private institutions today, marketing of insurance in order to increase the sector’s operations and address new social segments and the role of insurance in serving the national economy. Graduates will also be provided with communication, team building, presentation and time management skills, while showing them how to work under pressure. He pointed out that trainees will be assigned to work on practical graduation project to apply the skills and knowledge needed by workers in service and economic sectors.
Dr. Al-Wazani also underlined JIF’s important role in enhancing insurance awareness amongst the public and different society segments, besides the role it plays in the national economy where more than 3,000 employees work at insurance companies. In addition, there are more than 100,000 employees benefiting indirectly from the sector, working with ancillary insurance service providers, motor workshops, physicians, pharmaceuticals and other services related to the sector.
Furthermore, Mr. Stetieh expressed his pride in renewing the partnership with JIF, which has played a major role in training, following-up with and supporting trainees, through workshops. JIF also prepared the scientific program which helped provide graduates with practical training in line with the realistic needs of the sector, thereby increasing their access to employment opportunities. He added that this ensures bridging the gap between the qualifications of graduates and work requirements, while guaranteeing the selection of suitable employees with the least effort and cost.
